Registered Massage Therapy
Massage Therapists are Primary Health Care Practitioners and are provincially licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. They are regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Health Care Consent Act and the Massage Therapy Act, which sets out the rules and regulations for the profession. Their scope of practice is defined as follows:
"The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain". (Massage Therapy Act 1991)
Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, membranes, skin and connective tissue. Hands-on techniques such as trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy (the use of heat and cold), myofascial therapy (connective tissue work), manual lymphatic drainage, deep tissue massage, rhythmic joint mobilizations, remedial exercise, and others are used to treat a specific condition or to enhance your general well-being. Lotions or oils are often used to facilitate the treatment.
On your first visit you will be asked to complete a confidential case history form, which will be reviewed with you – this process may involve some testing and assessment. After consenting to the prescribed treatment plan, therapy can begin.
The atmosphere of the treatment room is calm and quiet. Your privacy will always be respected and during the treatment you will be draped so that only the portion of the body being treated will be uncovered. You will never be asked to undress beyond your level of comfort and you will always have the right to accept or refuse treatment.

What To Expect During Your Treatments
On your first appointment, you will be requested to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a confidential case history form pertaining to your health Alternatively, you may print and complete the confidential case history form (here we can have a link so people could print it) and bring the completed form to your appointment. Your appointment will commence with a review of this form prior to your assessment and treatment.
At the beginning of each treatment, your therapist will perform an assessment, which will help you and your therapist formulate a personalized treatment plan. Your therapist will ensure an atmosphere of safety and privacy during every session. Your comfort and level of pain tolerance will be respected throughout the treatment.
Appointments & Cancellations
We respect your time, and hope that you can respect ours. Your appointment is reserved just for you. If you need to cancel, please give us the courtesy of  48 hours notice.  Last minute cancellations will be charged $45, while missed appointments will be charged the full service fee.
We understand that last minute changes can happen, so if you will not be able to attend your appointment, feel free to send a friend in your place.

Please mute cell phones and pagers during your appointment time.
Inappropriate Behaviour
If any behaviour is considered inappropriate the session will be terminated immediately and payment must be made in full. We reserve the right to end the session if we feel a client's behaviour or conduct is inappropriate. We also reserve the right to terminate a session for medical reasons, including discovering that the client has taken drugs, chemicals or medications that are contraindications to massage therapy.
Length of Sessions
Our policy is to give the scheduled amount of time requested. This means that a 60-minute session would be 60 minutes of treatment time. This includes assessment, treatment, discussion, home care/remedial exercise demonstration and follow-up treatment plan.
Payment Options
All fees must be paid on the day of treatment. We accept cash, cheque, Interac, Visa, and Mastercard. All fees are in Canadian dollars and HST is added to the prices.
Insurance
In order to get reimbursed for your treatments, some insurance companies require a prescription from your physician. Before making an appointment, we suggest you contact your insurance company with your policy number and ask if it is required.
Referrals
If you have friends, family members or co-workers who are looking for a dedicated massage therapist or skin care professional, they will receive the same quality care that you have come to expect. Thank you for your referrals!
Arriving Late
If you are late for a scheduled session, we may not be able to provide you with the full length of your session. Our sessions are set to start and end on time to allow our clients and staff to plan accordingly. We ask that you arrive early to ensure that you receive the optimal benefits of your entire treatment time. We do our best to be ready for our clients when they arrive, but at times a session may be unexpectedly extended. In that rare case, you WILL receive the full length of your session.
